Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10 Micro Four Thirds Camera

Along with the Lumix G2, Panasonic unveils the Lumix DMC-G10, another addition to its line of LUMIX G Micro System Micro Four Thirds Camera. The new G10 is the world’s lightest digital interchangeable lens camera with a viewfinder. It features the same 12.1 Megapixel Live MOS sensor and Venus Engine HD II processor as the G2, but its 3-inch LCD display lack touch-panel and ability to move.

Other features are pretty similar to the G2, including ISO 100-6400, RAW support, Dust Reduction System, Live View, iA mode that includes Optical Image Stabilizer, Face Detection; 26 scene modes, HDMI output and support for SD/SDHC/SDXC cards. It record 720p HD video using M-JPEG codec.

Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-G10 is compatible with Micro Four Thirds System lenses as well as any interchangeable lens that complies with the Four Thirds standard via an optional mount adapter. It will come equipped as part of its kit, with the newly announced LUMIX G VARIO 14-42mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH/MEGA O.I.S. lens.

Panasonic officially introduces the new Lumix DMC-G2, the company’s latest Micro Four Thirds that serves as the successor to the Lumix G1. The G2 is the first Micro43 camera to feature a touchscreen for touch-operation allowing users to lock onto a subject for AF tracking, select the part and the size of AF area with the 1-area AF and access menu settings easily.

The Lumix DMC-G2 features a 12.1-inch LiveMOS sensor, Venus Engine HD II high-speed image processor, Dust Reduction System, Live View with super-fast contrast detect AF, electronic viewfinder with 202,000 pixels and ISO sensivity of 100-6400. It’s touchscreen is at 3-inch with a wide-viewing angle and rotates 180 degrees from side to side and tilts 270 degrees up and down. SD, SDHC, SDXC cards are all supported.

Panasonic’s G2 can record 720p HD video using the AVCHD Lite format. The Panasonic LUMIX G2 will come equipped as part of its kit, with the newly announced LUMIX G VARIO 14-42mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH/MEGA O.I.S. lens. The camera comes in Blue, Red and Black and its price will be announced later.

AmbienTec launches two portable solar charging systems, the SolarFold that opens up like a folding screen and the SolarFan that open up like a fan. Both of them are portable and easy to carry.

The SolarFold and SolarFan are the first portable solar chargers to utilize light gathering spherical solar cells, each with 1900 spheres. Both systems have a maximum power output of 2W and an output voltage at 5V. It uses USB interface for output. Other than charging gadgets directly, the chargers comes with two AA nickel-hydrogen cells for storing energy.

AmbienTec’s SolarFold and SolarFan both are priced at 22,050 Yen.
