NVIDIA Fermi-Class Quadro Professional GPUs Announced

NVIDIA announced its new line of professional Quadro graphics processors based on the Fermi architecture. New GPUs include the Quadro Plex 7000 array, the Quadro 6000, Quadro 5000, Quadro 4000 and Quadro 5000M.

These new Quadro GPUs, except the 5000M, feature the new NVIDIA Scalable Geometry Engines and leverage NVIDIA Application Acceleration Engines (AXE) to enable the world’s fastest performance across a broad range of CAD, DCC and visualization applications. All of them support OpenGL 4.1, DirectX 11, DirectCompute and OpenCL.

Acer announced its S1 series ultra slim LED-backlit LCD displays, which are probably the slimmest in the world. The S1 comes with an eye-catching design and ultra-slim profile, ranging from only 13 mm for the 18.5-inch S191HQL and the 21-inch S221HQL to less then 15 mm for the 23-inch S231HL model. These monitors have a a polished black bezel and graceful glossy foot stand.

Acer’s S1 series features up to Full HD resolution, 12,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 5ms response time and LED-backlighting technology. Acer’s ultra slim displays include also Acer eColor Management technology and Acer Adaptive Contrast Management. They are eco-friendly meeting EnergyStar 5.0 for low power consumption and are also free of hazardous substances, such as PVC and BFR, in casing, printed circuits laminates, connectors and internal cables, for both system and panel.
