  • X10 Update: Battery fix coming soon!
Good news for X10 owners! A software fix that will improve and lower battery consumption is already in the works. One of our friends (Rahul) came across a comment from SE Answers team on their facebook page saying that an update is on its way and that it will double the battery life of the X10. However, no changelog is available and no release date for the new update. This...

  • Looking for dedicated writers!
When I launched this site back in October, I said that I’d kick off the site on my own to set the identity of the site and after a while look for more writers to join. With more than 120 posts and lots of cool features on the site, I think the time has come to look for more writers that will join the news team on the site and help create something big. Let’s...

  • Preview of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10
At long last here comes a bit of a first look preview of Sony Ericsson’s first phone based on the Android operating system, the X10. I’ve fallen for Android. Honestly. Android and Maemo are without doubt some of – if not – the best mobile operating systems on the planet. And Sony Ericsson have added lots of tweaks and features to give Android...

  • New feature: Compare phones in the database
Just spent a few hours programming a new feature on the blog. Now you can compare phones from the phone database with each other. To my great surprise, the phone database is actually quite popular, so I thought a compare feature would come in handy for quite a lot of people here. Here’s how it works: Easy, huh? Have fun!

  • Exclusive: X10 Mini supports multi-touch!
In light of all the debate about the display on the X10, I decided to find a definitive answer myself. I went ahead and asked Synaptics, who’s a supplier of touchscreen technologies, and although I didn’t get the answer I was looking for, I got another rather interesting fact. Apparently, Synaptics is the supplier of the display on the X10 Mini and I’ve...

  • Here’s the cause of the X10 WiFi bug
Some people have been complaining about a bug with the WiFi connection on the new X10. My friend Mik seems to have found the cause of the bug, and it seems that it occurs only when the 2G or 3G network drops. When this happens, the phone’s built-in WiFi antenna will shut down, thereby losing the WiFi signal, only to power back on and reconnect after 10-20 seconds....

  • Video: Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 preview #2
We’re going for a take two here! No, just kidding. I felt like I didn’t cover all the aspects of Mediascape and Timescape in the previous video, so here’s a second video that will go into more details on that. I’ve been asked if I could show how long it takes for both signature applications to load, so that’s included as well. I’ve...

  • Q1 results: Sony Ericsson is back on track!
Sony Ericsson earlier today announced its Q1 financial results and the big news is that the company is now making profit after almost two years of making, well, nothing. It all started back in Q3 of 2008 with a loss of 25 million Euro and peaked with the almost 300 million Euro loss in Q1 2009. One year after the big dive, the company was able to post a net income of...

  • Low-end Walkmans Spiro and Zylo announced
This was bound to happen. Sony Ericsson today announced two low-end slider phones with Walkman. They’re called Spiro (pictured above) and Zylo (below), and apart from their names they’re really not that interesting. Honestly, I think they’re quite ugly. One interesting feature, however, is the added support for FLAC on the Zylo – an excellent...
