Duncan Jones
Few directors make as assured debuts as Duncan Jones did last year with Moon. So his next film, titled Source Code, is definitely something to look forward to. As well as having a talented up and coming director, the film is pulling together a pretty intriguing cast. It’s been announced that Michelle Monaghan (Gone Baby Gone, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) will be the love interest to the already confirmed lead Jake Gyllenhaal. Also in talks to join the project is Vera Farmiga, who recently put in a top performance in the brilliant Up in the Air, earning herself a Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actress.

Source Code continues Duncan Jones’s love affair with science fiction. It centers on a soldier (Gyllenhaal) who, as part of an experimental government program to investigate a terrorist incident, finds himself in the body of an unknown commuter living and reliving a harrowing train bombing until he can find out who is responsible for it. It’s an interesting and original concept which, with this talented cast and director, could turn out to be something very special.

Filming is due to begin in March, with a 2011 release expected.
